Life took an unexpected path as I hit my 30’s, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I worked in the corporate world for over 15 years along with running a home, juggling family and friends. I felt tired, run down and physically exhausted. This happened as soon as I blew out 30 candles, my health took a nose dive!
Everyone deserves to have confidence in their own skin and to feel amazing. It just takes some positive lifestyle changes to achieve that “feeling fabulous” result.
ARE YOU “BUSY, BUSY”?
I bet you are! We all live in a permanent state of “Busy, Busy!” Ask anyone these days, and they’ll usually tell you i’m just so…busy! Even though you are so busy, you will likely cram even more activity into life. Sound familiar? I’ve been there; I understand the battle we face in this day and age!
DO YOU HAVE FOMO?
Many of us have FOMO, subconsciously feeling we need to be seen as busy, to do it all and have it all so we can’t say no! That leaves us feeling like we’re living on the edge and affects our health and wellbeing. Many of us are close to burn-out, the only reason we ever say no is when we reach crash and burn.
DO YOU SAY YES TO EVERYTHING?
Saying yes to everyone means we say no to ourselves. We continue to juggle everything life throws at us and add increased pressure on our mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. This can cost our health dearly.
MY JOURNEY TO HEALTH & WELLBEING
There have been times in my own life when I’ve really hated the skin I was in. I was unwell due to lack of self-care and I resented myself. I gained weight, felt bloated, struggled with major sugar cravings and constantly battled with using food as my emotional crutch. I tried every faddy diet you’ve heard of, making me even unhappier and no closer to my goals.
I CRASHED & BURNED
I reached a point I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I was fat, sick and felt nearly dead.
I crashed and burned, enduring a mini-stroke. I was diagnosed with autoimmune disease and CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome). I had to make a choice: Take control of my health and change things, or I dread to think of the alternative.
Only I had the power to change. So I did.
GOOD NUTRITION – WHOLESOME, NOURISHING FOODS
I studied nutrition in 2011/2012. Armed with that knowledge plus support from friends and family, I used it to change my life once and for all. Today, I am a total advocate of wholesome living (Paleo) for the incredible health results you get from these lifestyles. I’ve shifted the way I look at food. I need to take good care of me and love my body, food is fuel, it is not my enemy, it is medicinal, healing and restoring me.
I LOVE TO COOK
Together with my nutritional qualifications and passionate cookery skills, I concocted tasty, nutritious recipes that family, friends and my clients could all enjoy without feeling they were missing out.
COMBINING NUTRITION WITH STRENGTH TRAINING
To create the healthiest version of me I combined Paleo with strength training. Today, I have a tribe of like-minded people by my side all getting the best results they can for their own bodies.
I feel fantastic! Yes, there are some days I struggle with my health even 6 years on but I am much further along the path than I would have been had I not made any substantial changes.
